What is Express Entry?
Express Entry is an electronic system managing applications for Canadian permanent residence under three federal programs: the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
Eligibility Criteria
Work Experience
At least 1 year of continuous full-time skilled work experience (NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3).
Education
Canadian credential or foreign credential with an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).
Language Skills
Valid IELTS or CELPIP results. Minimum CLB 7 for FSWP, CLB 5 for FSTP.
Proof of Funds
Sufficient settlement funds based on family size, unless you have a valid Canadian job offer.
Process Steps
Create Your Profile
Submit your Express Entry profile with your experience, education and language scores.
Receive Your CRS Score
A score out of 1,200 is assigned. The higher your score, the better your chances of receiving an invitation.
Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA)
IRCC issues invitations regularly through draws. The minimum score varies per draw.
Submit Your PR Application
You have 60 days to submit a complete permanent residence application with all required documents.
